With cellular AMI meter endpoints becoming a valuable tool for conservation, it is critical for cellular AMI to be integrated into your meter reading processes.
In the past, removing a manual-read destination from routes or adding them in, if there was an AMI failure, was a difficult management challenge that taxed a Utility's staff to the point of undermining the benefit of the new cellular technology.
Alexander's uses our SWiM Networks AMI integration to eliminate the hassle of adding new AMI endpoints because, as an AMI meter comes online, it is automatically removed from a reader's route; in addition, if an AMI meter fails, the address is reinserted in the route without the need for your utility staff to perform any audits.
As part of our normal duties, Alexander's staff performs frequent critical liability surveys of the meter, box, and lid that otherwise may be ignored until someone is injured because of a broken lid or other issue. These surveys are recorded, photographed and stored securely for your use in helping to resolve customer service or litigation issues.
Functionality tests on any non-reporting AMI meters are also part of our normal duties. Test details are integrated into maintenance work orders so that your repair supervisors know exactly what tasks need to be performed prior to dispatching an AMI repair technician.
